Filter bubbles and opinions online

Recommendation systems show you more of what you already clicked. That way you can end up in a filter bubble or an echo chamber. Varying on purpose and responding well help.

Why

Why does your feed show you mostly football videos, and your sister's mostly cooking? Do you get to see the same world?

Social networks and video platforms choose what you get to see. They notice what you watch, click and like, and show you more of it.

That is handy, but you also miss a lot. If you almost only see opinions like your own, it seems as if everyone thinks that way.
