The municipality and the province
The municipality is the government closest to home: the municipal council decides, the college with the mayor carries it out. The province sits between the municipality and the region.

The street light outside your door has been broken for weeks. Who should you tell, and who makes sure it gets fixed?
Much of what you see every day is arranged by the municipality: the street you cycle on, the lights that shine in the evening, the rubbish that gets collected, the sports hall where you train.
When you know who does what in your municipality, you also know where to go with a question, a problem or a good idea.
